Simplified Social Shorts

Discover just how simple it actually is to use video shorts as a part of your social media marketing strategy.

Imagine knowing and understanding what’s current with social media marketing so you can brainstorm ideas and content with friends and fellow business owners.

Or, as you’re scrolling TikTok, (IG Reels, YouTube Shorts Idea Pins) after a long day, you find ideas that spark your creativity, and you’re inspired to you write them down to create later

Or, as you’re planning your monthly, quarterly, and yearly marketing plan you’ve included content with text, long videos, and short videos instead of scrambling to create it at the last minute.

It’s absolutely possible for you. How do I know?

Because those are real-life results that my students and I have accomplished once we realized just how simple it was to use social shorts in our business.

I never expected I'd be utilizing video shorts in my business.

I love scrolling TikTok every day. I use it as a method of escape when I need a break, a way to wind down from a busy day, a way to interact with family and friends as we exchange videos with each other, a place to learn new things, and so much more.

I was intimidated by the thought of doing video short content for my own businesses because the creators I enjoy watching almost always look put together, have picture-perfect homes or offices, enjoy dancing or doing the trending choreography, and are energetic, bubbly, and captivating (or they give the illusion of those things).

I know myself and I know that I’m rarely ever camera-ready, my house and office are rarely ever camera-ready, and I don’t dance or sing (no one wants either!). So I just kept putting it off and ignoring the voice in my heading telling me that it really should be done.

Linda H da Silva, Online Business Coach

Hi, I'm Kayla.

I’m an NCIDQ and Virginia Certified Interior Designer, Mentor, and Educator. For over 18 years, I’ve been a part of the Interior Design profession in a variety of roles. Most recently, I spent 4.5 years as an adjunct professor in the interior design department at a local community college.

I utilize my design background and experience as a higher education instructor to help fellow business owners understand and build a business they are passionate about. Some of my clients and students include interior designers, interior decorators, bloggers, podcast hosts, artists, entrepreneurs, authors, online educators, and more.

When I’m not working, I can usually be found in the backyard or cuddled up with one of my 4 rescued beagles: Hunter, Thumper, Murphy, and Petey. They will probably say hi at least once during my recordings – no matter how hard I try to avoid it!

Frequently Asked Questions

Not at all! This course will work for any industry and niche. In fact, my courses have been taken by a variety of other business professionals in various industries. While the examples that I share may be geared toward interior design professionals because of my background and experiences, I do try to insert examples from other professions or industries whenever possible.

At this time, this training focuses on the following top platforms: Tiktok, IG Reels, Pinterest, and Youtube.

I like to think of Camera-Free Social Shorts and Simplified Social Shorts as sister courses. While there are similarities, especially given that they both focus on video short content for social media, there’s quite a bit that’s different, too. Camera-Free Social Shorts focuses on creating content completely off-camera using Canva. In Simplified Social Shorts, I’ll discuss the off-camera component, but we do not discuss using Canva to create this content. Instead, the focus is on utilizing the apps (or your devices) and then editing in the apps to generate off-camera content.

There are other areas of overlap, too. For example, I’ll be mentioning and showcasing the different apps, how they work, their various features, their sizing and timing parameters, etc. But, I’ll also be spending more time on these and providing more detailed tutorials with each of these programs and their features, tools, etc. in Simplified Social Shorts.

Please also take time to review the course overview that I’ve provided above. You can compare it to the details that I’ve provided for Camera-Free Social Shorts.

And, if you still have questions, feel free to email me directly at education@kaylaweiner.com so we can discuss them.

I do recommend both. Especially if you plan to record in-app video content and/or utilize the full features of each app. I also go into more data and research regarding the use of short video content, the types of video content, etc.

If you haven’t already, please take a look at the course content section. It showcases a bit more about what you’ll find in this course, which may also help you decide if this course is for you.

Technically, no! I say technically because I will have a few recommendations inside the course for things that have been beneficial to me, and those will cost money (although a few do have free options, too!).

I use the Thrivecart Learn platform for my course to house everything. There will be downloads (PDF) available in the various modules and lessons. For my videos in the training, I use Loom. While the Loom videos are free for you to view, there may be a pop-up or something occasionally that invites you to signup for an account. Loom offers a free version of the platform if you’d like to signup, but this is not necessary to use or view the videos.

For any of the questionnaires inside the course, I use airtable, which is completely free. You do not need to signup for an account for it either.

There will be a mix of both on-camera and off-camera content in this course, but even some of those items could probably be adjusted slightly to fit your preference or need and that’s the beauty of social media! There may be a few lessons you want to skip completely. But, overall, I’m sure you’ll find this course useful and beneficial!
