Hi, I'm Kayla.
I’m an NCIDQ & Virginia Certified Interior Designer, Mentor, and Educator. For over 18 years, I’ve been a part of the Interior Design profession in a variety of roles. Most recently, I spent 4.5 years as an adjunct professor at a local community college.
Utilizing my design background and experience as a higher education instructor, I now help fellow business owners understand and creatively build a business they are passionate about.
Some of my clients and students include interior designers, interior decorators, bloggers, podcast hosts, authors, educators, artists, entrepreneurs, and many more.
My creativity knows no bounds and I consider myself to be the definitive multi-passionate entrepreneur, so I understand the struggles and frustrations of juggling multiple businesses while also dreaming of ideas, too. In addition to Interior Design Mentor, I have an additional business and I am in the early stages of a third.
My schedule (and life) revolves around my 4 rescued beagles: Hunter, Thumper, Murphy, and Petey.

When I started Interior Design Mentor, I initially believed that I’d be focused on the interior industry and professionals. Since launching, I’ve had so many new students and clients find me from other backgrounds, and I’m discovering that so much of what I offer and have to share translates into other business industries and niches, too.
My recommendations, suggestions, examples, etc. may not exactly relate to your industry, however, I believe they adapt well. And, as I’m discovering the various backgrounds of my students and clients, I’m working toward adding content that better relates to a wider audience when possible.
Currently, I am in the middle of updating and adding to the marketing that I launched last year, especially with my one-on-one opportunities.
